Description |
The item is a bolt, approximately 1.5 inches long with a head that is just under half-an-inch in diameter. The letters "P.M." appear on the head, with the number "6.8" shown beneath. The bolt appears to be in great condition; still fairly shiny with no scorch marks.
I found this bolt laying next to my van when I left for work this morning. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I got home from work last night, so I think the only logical explanation is that some of the Mir debris did come down over Indiana.
However, no guarantee is made of authenticity, since I don't know anything about building a Mir and if this type of bolt would even be used in spacecraft construction.
