The In Transit Edition:
I am off to Sin City ... content might be scarce until I establish the connection up there. Flex,
has got a new program with mainland numbers going ... Del, don't fail me now!
Hey ... Sincity.com is Penn & Teller's Web site.
They rule
This site alone could probably keep you busy all weekend, but it's only for hardcore conspriacy theory/Illuminati types.
They Rule dynamically allows you to
explore the links between the ruling class is America -- boardmembers of the largest corporations in the nation.
Another tinycam
Fuji has joined the really, really pinner cam game with the
iX-1. Eh ... shrug.
Flight 404
I only briefly looked this site over, and I couldn't really make heads or tails out of it, besides that it
had some interesting Flashwork. Check out Flight 404.
Bin blaster
I think Gspot sent this (correct me if I'm wrong): It's the latest from Newgrounds,
Bin Blaster, yet another Osama shoot 'em up.

T-minus 2 days until vacation for me; Penfold leaves tonight ...
Just testing
Here's an article about this woman who tests sex toys for a living.
Some living. From an anonymous reader.
How far we goin' back?
Way back. I found this on someone's journal page ...
It's the Wayback Machine, a huge archive
of Web pages from years past.
Oddity
I swear I posted this before, but I just can't find it in the archives. No matter. After a 9/11-induced hiatus,
Andy Foulds has reactivated his Bush/Blair pinnochio-morphing applet.
It's REALLY strange but cool at the same time. Check it out.
Porta-workstation
Here's a somewhat interesting product ... a portable, folding table for your laptop.

Kitty spy
Seems that the CIA was trying to make little kitty cats into super electronic spies, dubbed "Accoustic Kitty".
Leaving the fold
Katy Ling, a software consultant who had her home wired for high-speed Internet access last year, did what many technology analysts said would never happen: She bailed out of broadband.
After drinking from the cup called broadband, how anyone could settle for less is beyond me. Hell, I'd rather not have a land line than lose the broadband.
Hit up the full story here.
Naked mobile
Seems that the company that brought you the Naked News, is looking to expand that into the wireless market.
Read about it here.
Catherine the Great syndrome
A Bellefonte man who allegedly tried to have sexual intercourse with a horse was arraigned on criminal attempt and disorderly conduct charges Friday.
To strange for words.

W34kness on film
This is a little film called "The Last Race," partially sponsored by rice parts maker
Autocannon. To quote tef, "Bring on the fast and the furious clones" ... Nothing like immortalizing
feh on film.
Episode II trailer
Lucalfilm has released a REAL Episode II trailer.
I am not going to play it up too big because it requires you to register with a real email address, which I find distasteful.
After seeing the fake Episode II trailer,
I'm a little disappointed. From theDino.
On the Star Wars tip, here's a Salon bit on things like Episode I: The Phantom Edit.
Fun factor
For today's sex content, the "Research Center For Multiple, Sexual Orgasms".
Wholesome fun!

This hockey starting at 11PM rather than 10PM really sucks.
Where's Lucky/Tigger?

Scale model canoes
Mei Li sends you a shameless plug for her Dad's scale model Hawaiian canoe site. So cool, he was even on Home and Garden TV.
Pizza online
Pizza Hut, the online ordering system. But currently, only internet slugs in Dallas, Columbus, and Kansas city can use this new feature. This is so evil, yet one more reason not to leave your computer.
Flash oddities
Some more strange flash movie oddities. This time a cartoon about a guy screening his answering machine messages.
Useless sex trivia
Maybe this site will help you win at those Megatouch sex trivia games.

I am late, so Tef's content is bailing me out.
Size matters
For those irritated with bloatware, here's a bit of code that doesn't get much tighter.
It's a DirectX 8-based 3D scene model demonstration complete with textures and sound.
The interesting part? The entire file is 64k. That's it. Modem users welcome. Check it out.
Body double
I don't really understand the allure, but these guys took
the art of body mutilation to the highest level.
Disturbing.

The ultimate paintball accessory, the Tippmann Hellhound paintball assaultt vehicle.
Alford plea
For some reason I remember this from Crim Pro back in school. Not sure why they wrote an article about it, but read about Alford pleas here.
Student discount
Reports in China say prostitutes are giving student discounts for their services.
The China Youth Daily says prostitutes in Wuhan are offering cut-price "Thai-style massages" for around £2.50.
There's a place called Moonlight Massage by UH Manoa, maybe they offer student discounts too. Hit up the full story here.

Big flash
Sandisk today announced its 1GB compactflash module,
to help feed the current crop of 4- and 5-megapixel cameras out there. Once production ramps up, these should prove a serious
threat to the IBM Microdrive.
Loop it
Need some beat loops or other music snippets for your DJ program? Try
Flashkit, with tons of free ones for download.
High security
Well, this product has been around for over five years, but in light of recent events, it seems more relevant than ever.
The EscapeChute is a parachute designed to help people escape from high-rise
buildings in the event of a catastrophic event that makes the normal exit impractical.

UH vs. San Jose State
Just before kickoff, at 6:00pm, Nov. 3, 2001
Trekked on down to the UH-San Jose State game last night ... turned out to be a kind of sloppy effort on the part of the Warriors, but
they still won rather convincingly, 34-10. This was the first opportunity to work out the E-10 in stadium lighting with the long lenses --
arguably the task it is LEAST suited to. The results were less-than-stunning, as expected, with a noisy 320ISO limit mandating
a maximum 1/125 shutter -- which translated to LOTS of camera shake with the 420mm-610mm reach the lenses provided!
I shot about 500 frames over the course of the game and went through 2 sets of batteries. I suppose, depending on your perspective, it could be
considered amazing that a camera with only 320ISO equivalency could capture any images at all through a 400+mm lens ... but I guess that's the
beauty of a usable 2.4-2.8 ISO at that focal length. All images in this article can be enlarged by clicking.

We were in the UH student section about 4 rows back. These guys came ready to party, already sauced up and sporting
orange pumpkin/warrior helmets. |
UH quarterback Nick Rolovich got off to a slow start as usual, but turned in a decent effort as the game progressed.
He finished with one interception. |
The "new" UH mascot. After all the hub-bub surrounding the UH mascots of years past, the university has finally settled
on one character no one seems to object to. |
|
|
|
Rolovich setting up for the pass. While the offense did manage to put 34 points up on the board, the "D" came up big again
to keep the Spartans at bay during the miscues, including 3 early fumbles. |
The Spartans had some success with draw plays early on, but the UH defense soon was on to their tricks. |
UH's Craig Stutzmann shortly after catching the game's first TD. He kept the celebration tame to avoid any penalties. |
|
|
|
Somewhere in the third quarter, the overeager fans in the front row were escorted out by Honolulu's finest. |
Our seats were very low and directly behind one end zone, making for tough focusing as the plays came directly toward or
went directly away from us. Most of the game-action shots above took place within 20 yards of the 50-yard line. |
Since a lot of the game was played on the other end of the field and was unshootable (although the TCON-300 works very well
as a telescope), I was FORCED to shoot the only subjects within range, the UH Dancers.
