Comdex Fall 2001
A variety of Comdex exhibition floor photos. It's pretty much what you'd expect if you've seen any pictures of it, although
this year the attendance (so I heard) was way down. More later.

Kovy power
After being out for a month, Alexei Kovalev storms back onto the Pitt team scoring two hat tricks in a row. All things considered, they really
didn't need Jagr after all. Now if Straka comes back....
Stripper FAQ
It's exactly what they say it is, a stripper FAQ.

Extreme ironing
Taking ironing to new levels, Extreme Ironing.

Wasn't that...
Seems that Stalone wants to brush off the Rambo character and send him into Afghanistan to find Bin-Laden. Wasn't he just in Afghanistan in Rambo III?
Read about it here.
One for each
First came along All About My Vagina. Then in response came All About My Penis. At least they covered both bases.

Mo' Vegas
More random, captionless photos. Tomorrow (later today) I tackle the Comdex exhibition floor and hopefully, the Las Vegas cityscape and Bellagio at night.
Iron Chef USA to air
Jui sends word that Iron Chef USA (pretty slick Flash site)
is going to air on Friday, according to Ironchef.com. Will it work? Can the distinctive
Japanese flavor that made the original production successful be maintained in an American TV production?
How will the public respond? Whose cooking battle show reigns supreme??!?!
I apologize to all those who sent in photo submissions recently;I have not yet got around to posting them up. I brought them
here to hopefully do in my spare time, but that's turning out to have been wishful thinking ...

DUCT tape
A whole site dedicated to the wonder of Duck Tape Brand duct tape.
And even a book on duct tape origami.
Alamo files bankruptcy
MIAMI, Nov. 13 -- ANC Rental Corp., the parent company of the Alamo and National car rental companies,
filed Tuesday for bankruptcy protection, a corporate victim of the retreat in travel since the terrorist attacks.
“The drastic decline in travel after Sept. 11 has taken a tremendous toll on our business, and our current capital and
expense structure cannot absorb the shortfall,” said ANC chairman and CEO Michael Egan. He promised to “continue
serving customers while we stabilize the business.”
I hope they stay around, I really really like my Alamo Quicksilver card and the fine fine Linconls they rent.

Dona Nieto returns
The webmasters' favorite topless enviromentalist is back in the news. Dona Nieto and eight of her friends staged a topless protest against logging.
Ogle it here.

Straight from the land of canucks.
Assorted trip pics
Some assorted pics for you. This was the hotel I stayed at, the Westin Bayshore, a quite pimp hotel.
The next one is of my room. It was a big room, enough room for everything and the bicycle. Bicycling is the
way to get around Vancouver, much more useful than a car.
And lastly, my rental car, the fine fine Ford Taurus.
Canadian rice
Even in the frozen north, you can't avoid the rice.
Inspektorrr Bluebell says, "hmm I was with my brother in his car and we saw looked at its exhaust pipe to our astonishment it was a fake rice car! How to
make your own fake rice car: Empty can of chupa chups.. the one that you normally put your coins in, some cardboard that lasts a long time, and some DUCT tape..
attach to exhaust pipe and voila! fake rice car complete with chupa chups can."
Friends don't let friends
Taken in a skatepark in Whistler, B.C. In case you can't read it, it says "friends don't let friends rollerblade or scoot."
Pouting over poutine
While in Vancover, I got to eat some French Canadian foods, especially something called poutine. Essentially french fries, gravy, and cheese curds. See a simplified (Disneyfied) version here.

Vegas baby
Just some random Vegas shots for which I am currently too lazy to write cutlines.
I put some other (crappier) ones in the Pics of the Moment bar.

It's only been one night and I already spent too much.
Flightiness
This is just too damn early to be awake, let alone
be at Honolulu International Airport trying to catch a plane. On the upside, aside from waiting in the Ag-check line for a good half hour until
the darn thing opened up, there were no major hiccups in the experience, despite the added security.
It was a bit odd to see uniformed soldiers standing watch at the airport (I didn't notice any guns on the ones at HNL, but
they definitely had guns at McCarran), but it wasn't too big of a deal. Here are a couple more from HNL:
I arrived in Los Angeles before making the jump over to LV ... LA was looking
pretty pallid, I assume it was smog? Yeah, sorry about the glare on that one, I wasn't
in the mood to climb up to the window to get rid of it. Anyway, I arrived in Las Vegas around
4:30pm, which, to my surprise, is about when the sun goes down.
Oh yeah, here's that same picture I took last time, only with a better camera this time:
Shot at 320 ISO and sharpened.
Anyway, that's it for now, stay tuned for more.
Non-PC
Here's the one bit of link content for the day: It just don't get any less PC than this.
