Traffic cam unconstutional
Honolulu, Hawaii -- A District Court judge dismissed three traffic camera citation cases today, saying it is unconstitutional for the state to presume at trial that the registered owner was driving the vehicle at the time it was ticketed.
Woe to those who just gave in and paid the fine. Damm straight that it was unconstitutional. Hit up the full story here.
Love and the couch
Maybe this is a side benefit for those who see a psychologist. TheraDate is a group of psycoanalist who try and also play matchmaker. Read about it here.
My kind of mayor
New York -- He's a billionaire; he's the mayor of the largest U.S. city and soon he will be the unwilling poster boy for an advertising campaign to decriminalize marijuana.
The NORML Foundation, a group calling for the legalization of marijuana, said on Monday it would launch a $500,000 campaign featuring a statement by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, made to a magazine before he was elected, that he smoked pot and enjoyed it.

Mini putt
Yet another Flash mini golf game. This one is very intuitive and fun, but I ran into one glitch and my ball got stuck.
Worth a try though. From Mafioso.
Here's the sequel, apparently: Mini Putt 2. This one takes quite a while to load, but
it's worth it. I had a -17 just now.

The San Jose Sharks lost to the St. Louis Blues but still clinched a division title,
its first ever.
The postseason will be here after this weekend ...
The idea sucked
WASHINGTON -- Nicotine lollipops and lip balms sold by three pharmacies as aids to quit smoking are illegal, U.S. regulators said
on Wednesday as they warned the firms to stop selling the products.
Rimshot for that headline. Seems like it's not so easy to deal addictive drugs.

Yes, that's right, the Hapless Habs are going to the playoffs.
I suspect this means at least a Hart finals appearance for Jose Theodore.

For the serious phone gamers out there, the Nokia Phone joystick.

DeNobel
From Paul Angelini: Revoketheprize.org is a site for a project
to get Yassir Arafat's Nobel Peace Prize revoked. Can't say I disagree with the reasoning ...

Ad bustin'
I would be remiss if I did not do my regular posting of how to remove ads from the new ICQ edition. Enter
Adbusters.
Apparently, some techniques for removing ads in 2001 work with 2002a.
I was unable to get any of the premade scripts and patches to work, but the manual method works fine.
If you have already installed 2002a, uninstall it, delete the "2002a" folder in your ICQ directory and then follow the directions.
You will lose all the histories on your 2002 installation, but run DBconverter and you'll have at least the stuff
from your earlier installation.
I was unable to get the registry hack part of the instructions to work; it seems 2002a does not use the same registry entries as 2001 (correct me if you
find otherwise).

A new version of ICQ is out for you download. They brought back the sound/user/message connection. Important to some, not so to others, but if you need it, get it here.
