Ozzy online

Ozzy

For those of you who can't get enough of the Osbournes, wander over to Sim Osbornes, a little Shockwave piece on the MTV site that allows some limited action.

P2P as it should be!

After much bitching and gnashing of teeth, I've finally run into a filesharing program that's worth having: It's Kazaalite, which is a spyware-less, adware-less modification of the Kazaa client. I had never seen the Kazaa client before this, and I am quite impressed with its sophistication. Anyway, although it does suffer from occasional instability issues on my machine, I am thoroughly appreciating this piece of software.

B-grade content roundup

Here's a bunch of stuff that's been rotting in my content list for a while, but are not really worth a full post each:

Palm shipping production out of US

Taiwan-based Asustek Computer has struck a deal with Palm to supply PDAs (personal digital assistants) running the new Palm OS 5 and the Intel PXA 250 microprocessor next year, industry sources said.

Oates done in Philly

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Philadelphia Flyers have decided not to re-sign center Adam Oates, acquired in March for a top goalie prospect and draft picks.

General manager Bob Clarke said the team had expected to re-sign Oates, 39, whose asking price is expected to be around $5 million. But that changed last week when the Flyers acquired center Michal Handzus in a trade with Phoenix.

IMHO it's getting high time for Adam to call it quits. Before it's too late to do it with dignity. Hit up the full story here.

In other news, Ron Tugnutt is headed for Dallas.

Table frustration

Ping pong

On its face, this is a kind of neat Flash pingpong simulation. But I think it's a subtle attempt to drive people crazy. Damn if it isn't hard as hell! I scored all of one point on the girl, ever. Maybe you'll have better luck. Onsen pingpong.

Dead Man's Switch

Mafioso submits this ingenius piece of software called the Dead Man's Switch. Heres a blurb of what it does:

Software ... which is basically a system that, if not reset by a given time, will automatically carry out a series of tasks, such as posting messages to websites like Ars, sending e-mails to loved ones (or hated ones), and encrypting or destroying sensitive files (*cough* pr0n *cough*).
Interesting!

Sharp

5 Finger

This is a simple, diabolical and kind of nasty game. 5 Finger Fillet is an adaptation of the old knife-between-the-fingers game popularized by the movie Aliens. Not for the squeamish. From Gspot.

Creation

This in particular is for Gspot. Create-A-Fart lets you, well, exactly what it says.

Also for G: The Scoop on Poop.

No love for Japan footballers

Belgian soccer may have its Red Devils, but Japanese soccer has its Bed Devils.

...

Despite the hordes of adoring fans who'd willingly throw themselves at the feet of national team members, a strict sex ban for the duration of the World Cup is going to ensure the only forward thrusts the players make will be on the pitch.

Kind of funny the lengths to which the coach has gone. Hit up the full story here. From Jui.
